McCain
This is my piece for Styles and concepts, the assignment was politics 08. It's done with oil and colored pencil and I went in with photoshop and added some textures to make McCain's Robo suit look old and messed up. I'd love to hear what anyone has to say about it.

Weekly Caricature number 1
So I actually got a caricature done this week, thanks to Dave for his nagging. This is Benicio Del Toro, he has those squinty eyes that made it easy to get the likeness. This is the first week of the caricature a week, I think next week I will try and do a more finished one instead of just a little sketch. Again, will see how that goes, this is the busy time of year. Enjoy.

Sketchbook
So I had some fun drawing a couple quick caricatures last night in the sketchbook. The one of Tom Cruise may look a little bit too much like he is drunk, but I like the way the Bill murray one came out. I decided I may want to try and do at least one caricature in my sketchbook every week. I have tried things like this before, but this time I will try for real. We will see how that goes. Enjoy.

Merry dress up your pet day
For humorous illustration we had to make three greeting cards, this is the one I liked. Its for a very important holiday, national dress up your pet day (January 14th if you want to mark your calenders.) It's done in colored pencil.

Hauoli Bar & Swill
I did this logo design for my Electronic Illustration class last year. It was done in Illustrator, and I dont have any work up yet of stuff done in that program, so heres something fun. I had fun trying to get a look of realism while still keeping it fairly flat. I also created the text myself, Its not a stock font, and Hauoli means Happy I believe in Hawaiian, Im not positive but thats what I was going for.

Fun
With all the time off I've had with school closed I have had some time to mess around with some photoshop work. This is my first real attempt at an animal, and using some textured brushes and stuff. I really like how easily you can get a fur texture with certain brushes. I want to do a few pieces in this style, let me know what you think. thanks.

Obama is done.
I finished up the Obama caricature, it was my first attempt at the c f payne technique. One picture is the full view, the other is a detail where you can see the tie and shirt and the little american flag pin a bit closer, which were my favorite part of it I think

Obama
The first assignment in humorous illustration this year is a caricature. So this is my Obama, its my color comp for the final piece which Im thinking about doing with an oil wash then colored pencil and paint and stuff. This is definintly my favorite assignment of the year so far and Ill post the final result when its finished. Also I did a couple other caricatures of different people before I decided on this on, so I may post those too, although I didn't think they were that great. Enjoy.

Maddies Room!
I finished painting a piece on My friends little sisters wall in her room. She wanted graffiti so I drew something up for her and got right to work on it. Here is one picture of what it looked like when I finished just the design, and one with the new color that will be in the rest of the room. The rest of the room hasnt been finished yet, but here thinking checker bursts with the same bright colors as the piece. Enjoy.

Turtles
I finally got some pictures of one of my favorite assignments from my freshmen year. We had to pick an animal then do a piece of it in several different styles. The ones I did starting from the top was a realistic pencil rendering, then one done with only letters for shapes, then a stylized design one, and then a palette knife painting. Hope you enjoy.

Adirondack Trip
I just got back from a weekend backpacking trip in the Adirondacks. We only got to climb one mountain though, because the second day it was pouring rain for the entire day. Luckily the weather opened up for a little the first day and I got to do a quick sketch from the top of mount Seymore, of the other mountain we were planning on doing that weekend, mount Sewerd.
