Late post for christmas

So this is a fun Santa Claus piece I did as my last project for Payne. I was just a little late in getting it on here for christmas, but it's still the holiday season so I think i'm covered. Its not done yet, the tree and background still have to get finished, as well as Santa's hand, but it's pretty close. This was definitely a fun piece to do though, hope you like it out there.

Also I have had some success with an old project that I think I'm finally going to finish. My mom took my children's book on guessing shapes in the clouds to a day care recently and read the prototype that I made. She said the kids loved it and a couple of the parents have asked a copy when It's finished. So with all my extra free time during school I want to have the thing almost, if not completely done by the end of the school year.
Happy new years too!

The Ocean

This is one of the four final pieces we are doing for finals in one of my classes. It is an opening scene for my childrens book idea that just sets the underwater feel. My favorite part is definitely the background water with the pattern. I just started another one of these thingys so that should be up some time. Hope you enjoy.

Arghh he's a Salty Dog

In my illustration seminar class we had a project last week where we were given two words thursday night and had to have a finished piece done the next day. As terrible as that may sound I think it was one of my favorite assignments of the year so far, and I actually like the final piece. My words were salty dog, hope you enjoy it. Arg.

New black and white

So when I got done with the last one I think I had too much time until it was due because the more I looked at it the more I wanted to add more stuff. It worked out for the best I think though, I wanted the face in the sky to stay almost all one value and shape the face out of the direction of the line.

Thats just like your opinion man

A piece for styles and concepts, just threw the type on in a crazy way, so I don't know if I like all that much yet. But hopefully everyone can tell who it is, those who would know him. Take a guess unless you already know. Oh ya and check out the rug at the bottom right, definitely my favorite part of it.

Re-Underwater

So I went back into the Underwater piece before I submitted it to the competitions. I put the pirate ship in the background and pumped up the whites on the water surface and the reflections. The ship helps a lot I think by adding a diagonal shape that counters the shape of the bottle. A step in the right direction I think.

Merry dress up your pet day

For humorous illustration we had to make three greeting cards, this is the one I liked. Its for a very important holiday, national dress up your pet day (January 14th if you want to mark your calenders.) It's done in colored pencil.

Fun

With all the time off I've had with school closed I have had some time to mess around with some photoshop work. This is my first real attempt at an animal, and using some textured brushes and stuff. I really like how easily you can get a fur texture with certain brushes. I want to do a few pieces in this style, let me know what you think. thanks.

Turtles

I finally got some pictures of one of my favorite assignments from my freshmen year. We had to pick an animal then do a piece of it in several different styles. The ones I did starting from the top was a realistic pencil rendering, then one done with only letters for shapes, then a stylized design one, and then a palette knife painting. Hope you enjoy.

Fun

I did a quick little piece of a robot wishing he could go on vacation
like all the other robots today. I think I may do a few of these
monochromatic fun little robots. Digital.
